and higher.

For SmartServer 4.4 and higher, the default SmartServer Pi  default SmartConnect CMS username and password is apollo apollo

For SmartServer 4.3 Update 1 and prior, the SmartServer Pi SmartConnect CMS password for the default apollo and admin user accounts is configured in the smartserver.ini file with the SmartServer Pi SmartConnect installation. The password that is defined in the smartserver.ini file does not  have any effect on the Raspberry Pi OS / SmartServer Pi SmartConnect Configuration page password. This section describes how to change SmartServer Pi SmartConnect CMS user passwords.

Since enhanced security is enabled by default for the SmartServer PiSmartConnect, you will be prompted to change the password to meet stronger password requirements when you first log in. This section describes how to set a stronger password that meets enhanced-security password requirements. To disable enhanced security, see Configuring Security (Authentication Method).

The SmartServer Pi SmartConnect OS user accounts and Configuration page login accesses (default user apollo, as set in the Install the Raspberry Pi OS for SmartConnect section) are not configured with the CMS Users widget, but are managed through the SmartServer Pi SmartConnect Configuration page as with all other OS operations. The SmartServer Pi SmartConnect Configuration page internally uses the Raspberry Pi OS user accounts. The OS is fully client-owned and configured and there is no synchronization between the SmartServer Pi SmartConnect CMS user and OS user accounts. This section also describes how to change the Configuration page and SSH login password using the SmartServer Pi SmartConnect Configuration page Accounts tab as an example.

Setting a Strong Password for Enhanced Security

Enhanced security is enabled by default for the SmartServer PiSmartConnect. If you want to lighten the requirements for setting passwords, you can disable this feature as described in the Configuring Security (Authentication Method) section.

When you fist log into the SmartServer Pi SmartConnect CMS with a password that does not meet the strong, enhanced-security password requirements, you will see the Change Password dialog box.

For SmartServer 4.3 Update 1 and prior, this password change does not effect the password setting in the smartserver.ini file.
