Storage Manager Needs To Be Started for SmartConnect 4.5 Update 1

If you are using SmartConnect 4.5 Update 1, then follow the steps in this section to start storage manager.

1. Install SmartConnect 4.5 Update 1. See Release Notes for software download links.

   1. See Set up and Install SmartConnect for a new SmartConnect installation.

   2. See Updating or Re-imaging SmartConnect if you are updating or re-imaging your SmartConnect.
      
      

2. Open a terminal connection to SmartConnect.
   
   

3. Change to the /etc/smartserver directory using the following command:

   cd /etc/smartserver

    

4. Open the environment variables file using the following command:

   sudo nano environment

    

   Open

   

    

5. Add PGDATA=/var/apollo/data/postgresql to the environment variables file.
   
   

   Open

   

    

6. Save the environment variables file with your changes.
   
   

7. Start storage manager using the following command:

   ssctl start storage-manager

    

8. Verify that storage manager is active using the following command:

   ssctl status

   
   A result similar to the following appears indicating that storage manage is active:

   storage-manager                    active since Thu 2025-03-27 21:53:53 EDT; 13s ago
