Importing / Exporting Datapoint Properties
For SmartServer 3.1 or prior, see Defining Datapoint Properties (Release 3.1).
You can export datapoint property definitions from, or import them into, the Datapoint Properties widget.
This section consists of the following:
Importing Datapoint Properties
To import datapoint properties, perform the following steps:
- Open the SmartServer CMS.
- Click the Import / Export button ( ) from the SmartServer app bar.
- The Import / Export dialog box appears.
- Select the DLA file to be imported from your computer by clicking on the browse button, or place it in the drop file area.
- Click Import.
A message appears indicating that the file was loaded.
Exporting Datapoint Properties
You can export datapoint properties for a single datapoint, multiple datapoints, or all datapoints as described in the sections that follow.
Exporting Datapoint Properties for a Single Datapoint
To export datapoint properties for a single datapoint, perform the following steps:
- Open the SmartServer CMS.
- Open the Datapoint Properties widget. Click the Expand button ( ).
- Click the Action button () for the desired datapoint and select the Export action.
The CMS exports the datapoint properties to a DLA file.
Exporting Datapoint Properties for Multiple Datapoints
To export datapoint properties for multiple datapoints, perform the following steps:
- Open the SmartServer CMS.
- Open the Datapoint Properties widget. Click the Expand button ( ).
- Click the checkmark for the datapoints to be exported. The checkmark changes from blue to yellow.
- Click the Action button (
The CMS exports the selected datapoint properties to a DLA file. ) and select the Export Selected Datapoint Properties action.
Exporting All Datapoint Properties
To export all datapoint properties, perform the following steps:
- Open the SmartServer CMS.
- Open the Datapoint Properties widget. Click the Expand button ( ).
- Click the Action button () and select the Export All Datapoint Properties action.
The CMS exports all of the datapoint properties to a DLA file.
