Downloading Logs

Downloading logs is available with SmartServer 4.0 and higher.
For SmartServer Pi, Download Logs feature s is supported for SmartServer Pi 4.3 and higher. SmartServer Pi is available with SmartServer 4.2 and higher.

You can download SmartServer logs for troubleshooting and system diagnostics. To download logs, follow the steps below.

  1. Open the SmartServer Configuration page as described in Accessing the SmartServer IoT Configuration PageThe Network tab appears as the default SmartServer Configuration page. Once the network settings are configured for the SmartServer system, then the System tab will appear as the default.

    For SmartServer Pi, open the SmartServer Configuration page as described in Accessing the SmartServer Pi Configuration Page. The Configuration page view that appears depends on your cache data. As needed, click the SmartServer IoT tab (left-side). The System tab (top) will appear as the default as shown below.

  2. Click the System tab as needed.

  3. Click Download logs.

    The examples that follow show a SmartServer IoT system. For SmartServer Pi, the Download Logs feature works similarly.

    A message appears indicating that logs are being collected and that the process will take a few minutes to complete.

    Once the logs are downloaded, a message appears indicating that the file is ready.

  4. Click the Download button to download all logs and configuration files to your PC.

  5. Click the download log to unzip and open the file.

  6. Click anywhere on the System Configuration page to bring the page back into view.
