You can export connection definitions using the Connections widget. This feature is supported through the Connections widget in both the locked and unlocked states and can be performed from either the CONNECTION TEMPLATES or the DEPLOYED CONNECTIONS tab. You can import connection definitions using definitions using the SmartServer CMS Import/Export button (Image Removedimage-20250226-155658.pngImage Added) that is located on the SmartServer app bar.

Exporting a Connection Template

Connection templates that are defined in the Connections widget can be exported and saved to a file. To export connection templates that have been defined, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the SmartServer CMS.

  2. Open the Connections widget, CONNECTION TEMPLATES tab (default). If the Connections widget has been locked, then click the Unlock Operations button (

  2. To export a connection template/deployed connection, click the Action button (

    The connection file is saved to your PC with the .con extension. Supported file extensions are .con.csv, or .con.csv. See the Importing a Connection File section for information on how to import a connection file.

Importing a Connection File

Connection files that have been exported from the Connections widget, or that have been manually created, can be imported using the SmartServer CMS Import/Export button (Image Removedimage-20250226-160223.pngImage Added). To import connection files, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the SmartServer CMS.

  2. Click the Import/Export button (

    The Import/Export dialog appears.

  2. Place the connection file, or browse to it on your PC, into the Drop files to import area.
