You should save the apollo password for any backed-up SmartServer system image. If you restore a system image onto a new SmartServer, then the new SmartServer will have its password changed to the old SmartServer's password (from the backup image file).

  1. Open the CMS Devices widget, SEGMENT CONTROLLERS tab.



  2. Click the Action button () for the SmartServer you wish to backup, and select the Backup action.



    See the Backing Up the System or Database section in the Backing Up, Restoring, and Cloning the SmartServer section for more information about the backup routines.

  3. Remove all U60s from a replacement SmartServer.

  4. Replace the SmartServer from step 2 with the new SmartServer from step 3.  

  5. Insert the U60s into the new SmartServer.
  6. Restore the backup created in step 2 by clicking the Action button () for the SmartServer you wish to restore on the CMS Devices widget, SEGMENT CONTROLLERS tab, and selecting the Restore action.

  7. If you are using LON Independent Management Mode (IMM), verify operations by following the instructions in the Testing LON IMM section below, otherwise continue with the next step.

  8. Test the SmartServer (see Testing Devices and Managing Datapoints) using the Devices widget.

  9. Test an edge device (see Testing Devices and Managing Datapoints) using the Devices widget.
