Exporting / Importing Connection Definitions (Release 3.3-3.6)

You can export connection definitions from, or import them into, the Connections widget from both the CONNECTION TEMPLATES and DEPLOYED CONNECTIONS tabs. These features do not require the unlocking/locking of operations.

Exporting a Connection Template

Connection templates that are defined in the Connections widget can be exported and saved to a file. To export connection templates that have been defined in the Connections widget, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Connections widget, CONNECTION TEMPLATES tab (default).



  2. To export a connection template, click the Action button () for the desired connection template and select the Export action.

    Or, to export multiple connection templates, click the Action button () and select the Export All action, or the Export Selected action if any connection templates are selected.

    The connection template(s) is saved to a file with the .con extension. Connection files can be imported using the Connections widget (see the Importing a Connection File section). Supported file extensions are .con.csv, or .con.csv.

Importing a Connection File

Connection files that have been exported from the Connections widget, or that have been manually created, can be imported into the Connections widget. To import connection files into the Connections widget, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Connections widget, CONNECTION TEMPLATES tab (default).



  2. Select the Import Connection Template button () on the Connections widget.



    The import file view appears.



  3. Click the DROP FILE HERE area and select the file that you want to import from your PC, or drag the file from your desktop to the DROP FILE HERE area.



  4. Click IMPORT FILE. The connection file is imported into the Connections widget.
