You can use the Notifications view to set, modify, and remove email notifications for maintenance expirations and renewals, and software updates. If you configure notifications, the SmartServer CMS will send the following notification message by email to the specified email address(es) on the defined notification days. The message will appear as follows: The maintenance license for <SmartServer name> will expire in <number of days> on <expiration date in yyyy-mm-dd format>.

  1. Start the SmartServer CMS as described in Open the SmartServer CMS.

  2. Open the Manage Licenses dialog on the SmartServer CMS.



  3. Click the Edit Notifications button ().



    The Notifications page appears.



  4. Click the Add Notification button ().

    The Create Notification view appears.



  5. Set the Create Notification fields as follows:
    1. Email field – email address where you want the expiration/renewal notifications sent.
    2. Number of Days field – number of days before the expiration to send the notification. You can enter up to three notifications. Press the delete key to remove a number of days value.
    3. Segment Controller – name of the target SmartServer.



  6. Click SAVE to store the notification settings.

    The notification setting is added to the Notifications view.

    Note: If more than three notifications are required, you can create additional notifications for the same email address as shown in the example below.



  7. Click CLOSE to exit license management operations.

    Or

    Click BACK to return to the Manage Licenses dialog.

  2. Open the Manage Licenses dialog on the SmartServer CMS.



  3. Click the Edit Notifications button ().



    The Notifications view appears.



  4. Click the Edit button () that appears to the right of the notification settings you want to modify.

    The Create Notification view appears.



  5. Edit the Create Notification fields as needed.



  6. Click SAVE to store the updated notification settings.

    The changed notification settings are updated on the Notifications view.



  7. Click CLOSE to exit license management operations.

    Or

    Click BACK to return to the Manage Licenses dialog.

  1. Start the SmartServer CMS as described in Open the SmartServer CMS.

  2. Open the Manage Licenses dialog on the SmartServer CMS.



  3. Click the Edit Notifications button ().



    The Notifications view appears.



  4. Click the Remove button () to remove a single notification setting, or the Remove All button () to remove all notification settings if you have multiple settings to be removed. 

  5. Confirm the remove operation by clicking OK on the Confirmation dialog box.



    The Notifications page appears with the selected notification settings removed.



  6. Click CLOSE to exit license management operations.

    Or

    Click BACK to return to the Manage Licenses dialog.
