Installation Information (details in IzoT CT User’s Guide):

  1. IzoT CT runs on 32-bit and 64-bit Windows, but can only be used with 32-bit Office (32-bit Visio)

    1. If you have 64-bit office (or 64-bit Visio) you will need to uninstall office (and Visio) and install 32-bit office, or use a Virtual Machine (VM) for CT.

      1. Why is only 32-bit office (or 32-bit Visio) supported and not 64-bit office/Visio?

        1. Almost all LNS device plug-ins are 32-bit applications. Since these 32-bit device plug-ins can not run on 64-bit office/Visio, CT only supports 32-bit Office/Visio.

  2. IzoT CT uses Visio, and you can purchase Visio when you purchase CT.

    1. If you purchase through a third-party, just run the latest CT installer.

      1. Install Visio first then CT.

      2. In this case you will have to activate Visio yourself.

    2. If you purchased CT with Visio, Visio gets activated automatically.

      1. For your first CT with Visio purchase, you will need to purchase the CT DVD with Visio

        1. For all other purchases of CT with Visio, use the CT DVD with Visio that you initially purchase and purchase a CT with Vision Activation key for each additional PC.

        2. Microsoft doesn’t allow us to provide Visio for CT as a downloadable link which is why you need to purchase a DVD.

        3. If the DVD doesn’t have the latest CT then install only Visio from the DVD and then install the latest CT from the software downloads site.

    3. Most Visio installation issues are resolved by using the latest CT version.

    4. Visio has to be installed prior to installing CT (this is automatically handled when installing the DVD).

  3. Use the latest version for all new installations

    1. If you purchased a CT with Visio DVD, if the DVD is not the latest version (in November 2023 CT 4.5 was the latest) then do the following.

      1. Install only Visio from the DVD, and then install latest CT from the EnOcean software downloads site.

  4. Installation and Visio issues

  5. Licenses

    1. You need to purchase an Activation key to use CT

      1. If you purchased the CT with visio DVD the Activation key will be on the DVD.

        1. Visio will be automatically activated during the CT install process.

      2. Otherwise an activation key will be sent to you.

    2. CT comes with an one year maintenance license.

      1. A valid maintenance license allows you to upgrade CT to a newer version.

      2. You should purchase one or more one-year maintenance license for each CT PC.

        1. You need to add maintenance licenses before the previous maintenance license expires.

      3. Before the Maintenance license expires, you will get a pop up when you open CT.

      4. If you purchased a maintenance license

        1. contact edge.support@enocean.com after you activated CT and include a copy of the Purchase Order (PO)

    3. Visio is required to use CT

      1. If you purchased the CT with visio DVD then Visio will be automatically activated during CT installation.

      2. If you purchased Visio separately then you need to activate Visio using the key you purchased.

    4. Echelon License Wizard (Start > Echelon License Wizard > License Wizard)

      1. Use to activate CT

      2. Don’t use the “validate” or “upgrade” action as they don’t do anything

      3. If you tie the CT Activation key to a Software download account then you can also do license return and recovery.

    5. Echelon License errors

      1. MachineLockRequirement

        1. If using a VM, contact support and ask for a replacement MT license.

        2. Contact support and as ask them to return the license or activation key.

      2. If your PC has internet access you should be able to activate CT automatically.

      3. If you PC doesn’t have internet access or can’t communicate to the License server then you need to do offline activation

        1. The Echelon License Wizard will create an *.elwrq file

        2. There are two ways to process this file

          1. Do it yourself - Use another PC with the Echelon License Wizard with internet access

            1. In the Echelon License wizard step 1, click the yellow “Show Advanced Tasks”

              1. Select the first task “Process a license request file created on another computer” and complete the process

          2. Send the *.elwrq file to EnOcean at edge.support@enocean.com

            1. EnOcean will then send you an activation response file *.elwrs

        3. Activate CT PC - Once you have the *.elwrs file

          1. Go back to the original PC and in step 1 in the License Wizard, click the yellow “Show Advanced Tasks”
