Reprovisioning LON Devices
Once devices are provisioned, they appear You can reprovision discvoered LON devices that appear as green in the CMS Devices widget.
It is good practice to reprovision LON devices that have been discovered and appear green (already provisioned) in the Devices widget to ensure that the LON devices are actually provisioned with the current configuration.
...
This scenario, where a LON device appears provisioned but may not be provisioned with the current configuration, may occur when a LON device is created and provisioned, and then the SmartServer IoT is reset to defaults using, for example, the configuration pages , but that you have not yet explicitly provisioned. This ensures that the devices are provisioned with the correct configuration. For example, if you provision a set of LON devices and then reset your SmartServer to factory defaults as described in Resetting the SmartServer to Factory Defaults. When the LON device is discovered after the reset, it will appear green even though the device was not subsequently provisioned.
Additionally, this scenario may occur when a LON device is defined and provisioned using LNS, and then the SmartServer is installed and the device is created in the CMS.
In these cases, the LON devices may appear green, but still require reprovisioning to ensure that they are provisioned with the current configuration. To reprovision a device, perform the following steps:

, the SmartServer may automatically rediscover the LON devices and mark them as provisioned (green). A second example is a set of LON devices that you have provisioned using an LNS tool such as IzoT CT, and then subsequently create the device in the CMS. In both examples, the SmartServer may have the wrong configuration for the LON devices. To reprovision the LON devices, follow these steps:
- /wiki/spaces/TEMP/pages/44041710.
- Add a capacity license for the devices you will provision if you do not already have sufficient capacity. See Manage Licenses for more information.
- If your SmartServer is running at more than 10 events per second (EPS), temporarily pause event monitoring to speed up the reprovisioning process.
- Open the Devices widget.
- Click the action button () for the desired device and select the Reprovision action.
- If you paused monitoring in step 3, resume event monitoring.
