Updating the SmartServer Pi

SmartServer Pi is available with SmartServer 4.2 and higher.

To update SmartServer Pi, perform the following steps:

1. Open a terminal window connection to the server.
   
   

2. Remove SmartServer Pi from your server by entering the following commands:

   $ sudo apt-get remove --purge smartserver-software
   $ sudo rm -rf /var/smartserver

3. Follow the installation procedure using the updated .deb package. See Installing SmartServer Pi.
   
   You do not need to recreate the /etc/smartserver directory or the smartserver.ini file.
   
   

4. Go to the Manage Licenses dialog to manage your customer account and activate licenses. Re-enter the Customer ID for the SmartServer Pi licenses to re-appear. The Manage Licenses dialog is accessible on system startup as well as from the SmartServer CMS.
