Resetting the SmartServer Pi to Factory Defaults

SMARTSERVER PI IS AVAILABLE WITH SMARTSERVER 4.2 AND HIGHER.

You can reset the SmartServer Pi to the factory default configuration, which includes resetting databases, as described below:

  1. Open a terminal window connection to the server.

  2. Enter the commands shown below to remove SmartServer Pi from your server.

    $ sudo apt-get remove --purge smartserver-software
    $ sudo rm -rf /var/smartserver
  3. Follow the installation procedure using the .tar.gz package for your SmartServer Pi software version. See Installing SmartServer Pi. You do not need to recreate the /etc/smartserver directory or modify the smartserver.ini file.

  4. Once the installation is complete, use the Manage Licenses dialog to manage your customer account and activate licenses. Re-enter the Customer ID for the SmartServer Pi licenses to re-appear. The Manage Licenses dialog is accessible on system startup as well as from the SmartServer CMS. See Activating Licenses Online Using the SmartServer CMS for more information.
