SmartServer 2 is a controller, router, and smart energy manager that connects control devices to IP-based applications such as building automation, enterprise energy management, demand response programs, and high-value remote asset management programs.  The SmartServer 2 is a legacy device that has been replaced by the SmartServer IoT.  The SmartServer IoT includes the functionality of the SmartServer 2, and adds the capability to securely deliver operating system data to IoT cloud services, integrate with BACnet devices and workstations, and provide multi-channel routing for LON/IP, LON, and IzoT devices.  The SmartServer IoT enables system integrators, application developers and OEMs to easily deliver industrial IoT solutions for energy management and automation using both new and existing control networks.
