Changing Attributes for a Device

You can change the value of an input datapoint on a device as described in Updating a Datapoint. Devices also have properties that are not datapoints. Most of these properties are read-only, including the program id, and the unique id, since these are defined when the device is created. You can read and modify the categories and notes properties. You can use the categories property to associate any categories with a device to simplify searches for related types of devices. You can use the notes property to store any information to be associated with the device.
