Accessing the SmartServer IoT Configuration Page

The SmartServer Configuration page provides the ability to configure the SmartServer network and system settings, as well as LON, BACnet, OPC UA, RS-485, Modbus, EnOcean, LoRaWAN, and Firewall (IAP/MQ server) settings.

Avoiding Browser Security Warnings

To avoid having browsers display a security warning when users access the SmartServer CMS or the SmartServer Configuration page, you can set up port forwarding for the SmartServer IoT and switch from using self-signed certificates. If you have access to the local DNS server, you can also set up a CNAME record for the SmartServer host address.

To open the SmartServer Configuration page, follow these steps:

  1. Connect to the SmartServer as described in the section Connecting to Your SmartServer.

  2. On a client computer, open a compatible web browser as described in the section Open the SmartServer CMS.

  3. In your browser, specify one of the following:   https://SmartServer_IPaddress  or https://smartserver-nnnnnn  where nnnnnn is the SmartServer's install code. See Connecting to the Console using a LAN Connection as described in the section Connecting to Your SmartServer. Named access using https://smartserver-nnnnnn works on networks that have a local DNS server. Otherwise, you may need to use https://smartserver-nnnnnn.local.

With SmartServer 3.5 and higher, use HTTPS (not HTTP) in the browser to access the SmartServer.

    The login page appears.

  4. Optionally, if you re-imaged the SmartServer and enhanced security is enabled on your system, and your password does not meet the requirements, then you will be prompted to reset your password.

  5. Enter the username and password.  The default username is apollo and the default password is printed on the label on the bottom of the SmartServer.  If you changed either the username or password, use the username and password you selected.  Use the defaults if you did not change them.

  6. Click Log in.

The Network Configuration page appears. The menu bar at the top of the page provides the ability to go to the System, Network, LONBACnetOPC UA, ModbusRS-485, EnOcean, LoRaWAN, and Firewall configuration pages, as well as the CMS

The Network tab appears as the default SmartServer Configuration page. Once the network settings are configured for the SmartServer system, then the System tab will appear as the default as shown below.
