Configure LON Routers

Up to eight native LON interfaces can be added to an i.LON 700, and a LON/IP-852 interface can also be added to an i.LON 700.

  1. To add a native LON interface, connect an Echelon U60 FT DIN, U60 TP-1250 DIN, or U70 PL DIN USB Interface Module using a USB cable connecting one of the USB ports on the i.LON 700 to the U60 or U70 module.

Note: More than two TP-1250 interfaces cannot be connected. If you have more than one PL interfaces attached, you must connect each PL interface to a PL channel isolated from the other PL channels connected to the same i.LON 700. To connect more than four interfaces, connect a powered USB hub to the i.LON 700 and connect the U60 and U70 interfaces to the hub.
  2. Routing can be enabled between any of the LON interfaces available on the i.LON 700 using the IP-70 channel as a common backbone for all the available interfaces.  The interfaces can be up to eight LON interfaces and one IP-852 interface. To enable routing, open the i.LON 700 home page and then click Features at the top of the web page. A page similar to the following appears:

  3. Select the LonTalk Routing checkbox to enable LON routing. Select the IP-852 Support and LonTalk Routing checkboxes to enable the IP-852 interface.

  4. To view available LON routers or trigger a Service message from any interface, open the i.LON 700 home page and then click System at the top of the web page. A page similar to the following appears:

  5. To trigger a Service message, click the Service Pin button for the channel where you want to have the service message sent.
