Mount Your SmartServer IoT

This section describes how to mount your SmartServer IoT and consists of the following:

Attaching the SmartServer IoT

The SmartServer IoT attaches onto a 35mm x 7.5mm or 35mm x 15mm DIN rail (also known as a TS35 rail). The bottom of the SmartServer IoT enclosure contains a spring-loaded DIN rail lock, which securely latches onto the DIN rail where the enclosure is installed. To release the enclosure from the DIN rail, insert a flathead screwdriver into the DIN rail locking tab and gently pull the tab downwards and away from the enclosure. The following figures display dimensions of the SmartServer IoT from the top and side.

Warning: The SmartServer IoT must be installed vertically as shown in the picture above to ensure adequate cooling.  The SmartServer does not have an internal fan and relies on natural air flow to cool the processor.  Air flow can be inadequate if the SmartServer is installed horizontally, for example if it is located on a table top.

Attaching the U70 PL-20

The U70 PL-20 attaches onto a 35mm x 7.5mm or 35mm x 15mm DIN rail. The bottom of the U70 PL enclosure contains a spring-loaded DIN rail lock, which securely latches onto the DIN rail where the enclosure is installed. To release the enclosure from the DIN rail, insert a flathead screwdriver into the DIN rail locking tab and gently pull the tab downwards and away from the enclosure.

The U70 PL-20 installs to the left of SmartServer IoT with the included USB cable as shown in the figure below. If a different installation configuration is needed, you will need to supply your own USB cable.

Refer to U70 LON PL-20 USB Network Interface Module for more information about the U70 PL-20.

Attaching the IOX

The IOX attaches onto to a 35mm x 7.5mm or 35mm x 15mm DIN rail. The bottom of the IOX enclosure contains a spring-loaded DIN rail lock, which securely latches onto the DIN rail where the enclosure is installed. To release the enclosure from the DIN rail, insert a flathead screwdriver into the DIN rail locking tab and gently pull the tab downwards and away from the enclosure. The figures below display dimensions of the IOX from the top and side.

After installing your SmartServer IoT, connect to AC or DC power as described in Provide Power to Your SmartServer.

Refer to IOX I/O Expansion Module for more information about the IOX.
