(Optional) Remotely Accessing the IAP/MQ Server

WITH SMARTSERVER 4.1 AND PRIOR, THE FIREWALL TAB IS CALLED FEATURES.

With SmartServer IoT 2.7 Update 1 and higher, the Features page is used to enable IAP/MQ server settings for remote access. To enable RNIs and IP-852 and and IP-70 routing features, go to (Optional) Add a LON Interface

With SmartServer IoT releases prior to 2.7 Update 1, this page is also used to enable RNIs and IP-852 and and IP-70 routing features. 

To set up remote access to the IAP/MQ server, use the checkboxes on the Firewall Configuration page to enable eth0 and eth1 interface ports 1883 and 8883 as described below. With SmartServer 4.1 and prior, the Firewall tab is called Features. 

  1. Open the SmartServer Configuration page as described in Accessing the SmartServer IoT Configuration PageThe Network tab appears as the default SmartServer Configuration page. Once the network settings are configured for the SmartServer system, then the System tab will appear as the default.

  2. Click the Firewall tab.

  3. Use the checkboxes to enable eth0 and eth1 interface ports 1883 and 8883.

  4. Click Update to save your changes.
