(Optional) Add an EnOcean Interface
The SmartServer supports EnOcean devices in local mode and remote mode as described below. These modes are mutually exclusive and cannot be enabled at the same time. Only device types (.eno for local mode or .iotc for remote mode) of the enabled type can be imported and added into the CMS.
Remote Mode – For remote mode, the EnOcean driver supports the following:
Remote with SmartStudio – For remote mode with SmartStudio, the EnOcean driver supports EnOcean SmartStudio Platform as an EnOcean network interface. The EnOcean SmartStudio Platform is a cloud-based application used to manage EnOcean devices. The SmartServer integration with SmartStudio allows you to collect data from EnOcean devices. EnOcean devices are supported in remote mode using the EnOcean SmartStudio Platform with SmartServer 4.5 Update 1 and higher.
Remote with IoTC – For remote mode with IoTC, the EnOcean driver supports EnOcean IoT Connector (IoTC) as an EnOcean network interface. Remote mode with IoTC uses a remote connection to IoTC, and supports a local EnOcean radio with a web security service (WSS) tunnel to IoTC. Remote mode with IoTC works with or without an EnOcean USB network interface. EnOcean devices are supported in remote mode using EnOcean IoT Connector (IoTC) with SmartServer 4.3 Update 1 and higher. Prior to SmartServer 4.5 Update 1, this feature is referred to as Remote Mode.
Local Mode – For local mode, the EnOcean driver supports the EnOcean USB 300 (868MHz for Europe), USB 500U (902MHz for North America), and USB 500J (928 MHz for Japan). See USB 300, 300U, 400J, and 500U EnOcean Network Interfaces. Local mode uses the local EnOcean radio and does not require any remote interfaces. EnOcean devices are supported in local mode with SmartServer 4.0 and higher.
The following sections describe how to add an EnOcean interface in local mode, or remote mode with SmartStudio or IoTC:
