Specifying an Authentication Key
You can encrypt communication between your host application and the IzoT Router Layer 5 RNIs, or between your protocol analyzer application and the IzoT Router Protocol Analyzer Layer 2 RNIs.
To encrypt communication, follow these steps:
- Open the IzoT Router Configuration Web page as described in Configuring the IzoT Router.
- Click the RNI/Protocol Analyzer tab. The following page appears:
- Enter a 16-byte authentication key in the RNI Raw MD5 Authentication Key box, or a text secret phrase in the RNI Text Secret Phrase box.
- Click Save Configuration.
- Click the Features tab. The following tab appears:
- Click Update to restart the RNIs with the new key.
To remove an authentication key, follow these steps:
- Open the IzoT Router Configuration Web page and click the RNI/Protocol Analyzer tab.
- Click Reset.
- Click the Features tab.
- Click Update to restart the RNIs without a key.
