Activating Licenses Offline
License Management is required with SmartServer 3.3 and higher.
You can use the License Customer Portal or the License Partner Portal to activate a capacity license offline if a SmartServer does not have an Internet connection. To activate a capacity license offline using either the License Customer Portal or the License Partner Portal, you will need to perform the following steps:
- Retrieve the offline activation file from the License Customer Portal (see Activating Capacity Licenses Offline Using the License Customer Portal) or the License Partner Portal (see Activating Capacity Licenses Offline Using the License Partner Portal).
- Activate the license either using the SmartServer CMS or the SmartServer USB drive. See Activating Licenses Offline using the CMS or USB Drive.
To activate maintenance licenses offline, contact our Customer Success team. You can also contact the Customer Success team to have an offline device capacity activation file generated for you.
